T-Trak Club at the Trainwest Model Railway Show
The T-Trak Club represented the school at the Trainwest Model Railway Show over the weekend of 13/14th April, which is the biggest model railway exhibition in Wiltshire.
We were the only “hands-on” model railway at the show in Corsham so our team of enthusiastic pupils and parents were again busy all weekend helping children have fun driving our trains. #awesomerailways.
The T-Trak Club members worked between January and April to build some extra modules to improve our railway ready for Trainwest. Our “Castle On The Hill” is inspired by Framlingham castle in Suffolk, the castle referred to in the Ed Sheeran song. Framlingham also played an important role in Mary Tudor deposing Lady Jane Grey so it was relevant for history lessons too. We also built a small station based on Drayton Green in west London so our trainee drivers could practice stopping accurately in the platform, which is harder than it looks. We didn’t get everything we wanted built in time, but we certainly aren’t the first project to miss a deadline: at least we didn’t overspend as well!
I’d like to thank all the members of the T-Trak Club for their hard work in the run up to the show, with special thanks to everyone who came along to help during the Trainwest show.
