Christmas Fair

christmas tree

The Christmas Fair will be from 6-8pm, Friday 2nd December

FOMPS would really appreciate the help of all parents and carers of Monkton Park School pupils to make this year’s fair really good fun. The following are a few ways in which we would appreciate your support:

Grand Raffle Prizes – Do you know of, or work for, a company that may be willing to donate a raffle prize? We have been given some wonderful donations in the past and the raffle always brings much excitement. All donors will be acknowledged on the night.

Please send us your ideas for new Christmas Stall creations before half term!

The ever popular Chocombola will be running again! As in previous years, classes will be running a competition for the one to collect the most chocolate in a week. Please send in chocolate donations with your child(ren) during the week commencing 14th November. Chocolate will be raffled on the Chocombola stall at the fair.

Nearly New Cuddly Toys – Yes, we all have them hidden away somewhere! Here’s your chance to donate them to the Nearly New Cuddly Toy Stall. Obviously don’t send in your child’s forever friend, but those that you’ve thinned out and hidden away can be donated to this stall.

Christmas Tombola – We are running a MUFTI (non-uniform) Day on Thursday 24th November, when we ask you to bring in a Christmas-themed prize for the Tombola stall.

Cakes / Biscuits – The café would like donations of cakes and biscuits please to be delivered to School office on the 1st or 2nd December.

Lastly, VOLUNTEERS! We have a strong FOMPS Team, but the Christmas Fair requires a little help from a lot of people to make it a success. Can you help look after a stall for part of the evening? Are you able to help us set up straight after school and pack away on 2nd December? Please e-mail FOMPS fompspta@gmail.com or contact the school office.

THANK YOU!

Remember to donate to FOMPS by doing your Christmas shopping through The Giving Machinelogo

Follow FOMPS on Twitter @fompsevents for information and reminders on events.

The tea towels will feature the famous Monkton Mole!

If you would like to order a tea-towel, please fill out the slip below and return to the school office along with the correct money.  Orders will need to be in by Friday 4th November to ensure delivery in time for Christmas!

Please see the feedback below from one of the stallholders:

Hi Michelle,

I just wanted to thank you again for having Sherbet Shack at your
event. Hopefully you were happy with the £38 raised.

I would be grateful if you would pass on to your wider school community
that I was made to feel very welcome at the school. Also the children
were an absolute delight; very polite and helpful.
You have a lovely supportive school.

Pamper and Pudding Evening

Thank you all thoses parents who came along to the Pamper and Pudding evening, which was a huge sucess.  We will be buying a Busy Bench and Outdoor Art Equipment for KS1 with the proceedes.

Summer Fair

A huge thank you to everyone for coming along and enjoying our Summer Fair.  We were extremely lucky with the weather, which encouraged you all to stay and take part in all the great things we had planned for you.  We made a large amount of money (approximately £1,250.00 tbc), which we will continue to use to update Foundation/KS1 areas. I would particularly like to thank the volunteers that helped out on all the stalls, and in the café and to the Dads who helped set up the fair.

Cake Sale

A big thank you to everyone who came to our KS2 Cake Sale on Friday. We made a huge £78.80.  This has already been given to the teachers to spend on KS2 resources. Many thanks to everyone who donated gorgeous cakes, cookies and muffins. Our cake sale would not be such a great success without all your support.

FOMPS Donations

FOMPS have just donated £1,200 to update the Foundation Stage/KS1 classroom’s book corners. This money has been raised from the Matchbox Challenge and Scarecrow Trail. After our Summer Fair we hope to donate another large amount to update more Foundation Stage/KS1 classroom areas.

Scarecrow Trail

A huge thank you to everyone who braved the windy and wet weather to take part in our Annual Scarecrow Trail on the 11th/12th May. We had 38 Scarecrows entered covering a wide range of books—some easier to guess than others!
Our BBQ held at the school on Saturday afternoon, was another success. Plenty of food, drink and entertainment and the sun shone — a little.
Of course the Scarecrow Trail could not happen without scarecrows, so again a huge appreciation to everyone who built, assembled, constructed and set up a scarecrow for us all to guess.
