Coming into School

The school is open from 8:45am each day when children can come into classes. There will be an activity for the children to do in class prior to registration at 9:00am. We have a 15 minute coming in time to help alleviate the congestion on Sadler's Mead. However there is always a lot of traffic outside school at the beginning and end of each school day. We ask that as many children as possible walk to school and we ask all drivers to be considerate of our neighbours.

Doors will be closed at 9.00am. Late arrivals should come to the main school reception.

We encourage all children to be as independent as possible on their arrival in school. Independence is a key skill and the ability of children to organise themselves is vitally important.

Children who are well organised are ready to learn, and want the start of the day to be as productive as possible with teaching and learning promptly underway in all classes. We appreciate that new Reception children do need help settling in and our TA's are ready to help, as the term progresses we like them be able to organise themselves on arrival in school. We expect children in Year 1 upwards to organise their own lunchboxes, book-bags and coats on arrival in school, and encourage parents to say goodbye to them at the classroom doors.

We do appreciate that there are times when you need to speak to your child’s teacher, who will always take urgent messages at the start of the day. However we would ask that if you need to talk to a teacher at greater length that you arrange to see them after school.
